A first dispatch from Alive in Tehran?

June 17th, 2009 · 30 Comments

[Editor's Note: We have cut the speaker's name from the beginning of the audio for his safety. We hope to have more dispatches to come later today and in the coming days.]

Here is a short 3 minute audio clip from a brave soul in Iran who has volunteered to join us in attempting to report what is happening there and publicize the voices of Iranians inside the country.

If you are in Iran and want to participate, please comment below, email us, or contact me via twitter.com/BaghdadBrian. Our only goal is to support the people of Iran to get their voices heard around the world.

We will have more to come, including a website soon.

I support and aplaud a new and true iranian revolution for freedom and democraty. Do not give up, do not give in. The guardian council, the post of supremem leader must be removed frompower and everyone must be allowed to stand for election before Iran is a true democracy. Make the police, the basjis, everyone to come to your side! No violence, make them desert the orders of the dictators! Enter the police stations, the basji stations, the parliament, take over the tv-stations. The whole world is with you! If I were there, I would be with you, out on the streets!

What is it exactly that the protesters want? Do they want a western style democracy? If so, they better have a plan to assassinate the RG and the Guardian Council and the mullahsd and the ayatollahs because until those groups are eliminated the people will still be under the thumb of the Islamists.

Sally, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” –Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Violence only begets more violence. Gandhi showed the world that revolutions can be peaceful. All that is required is a refusal to live under the thumb of despots. Murder and assassination are not.

I voted for O Bama and I’m thankful that most Americans did aswell. You can do it! We did. Don’t let the hatemongers win. I’m sending good thoughts to all who want to live in peace and democracy. Too much blood has been shed in search of this fundamentle desire. Love to all from a 55 yr old monther of 3 grandmother of 2 boys who I don’t want to see ever in a war.

People of Iran. I am not advocating the use of force or disruption in any form. I just wish there was some way to let the people of Iran to see the real picture of people in the US. We hold no malice towards the Iranian people and we share in the concern of the entire free world to see that you have the basic rights of Democracy. Stand firm in your pursuit of freedom. It is worththe price you have to pay. Gene in Texas.

First of all I really wish the protestors demand Freedom for themselves and for Iran. They shouldn’t protest merely for a person or a group.
This big strong protest prove that iranian people specially youngs can stand up against dictarorism so bravely and make big changes so why they should wait for a person or party that claim will make change?
I also hope this critical situation settle down but when the outcome is Freedom and we shouldn’t forget that “FREEDOM IS NOT FREE”

Mullahs are responsible for killing Iranian people; they will be hanged one by one after the revolution.

I am sad for what is happening in the world it is clear that human beings don’t learn from their history. Germany & Japan WWII , Middle East & North Korrea WWIII. Those who don’t learn are domed to repeat it. Let us pray to whomever we believe in for peace in the world, respect..one simple word yet it means soo much.

Construction not destruction. Anger mentality is not of the faithful. Killing inocent people who deserve freedon is the devils work. They will be judged by the only one that matters. NOT THE ONES WHO THINK THEY ARE IN CHARGE. THEY HIDE BEHIND THE RELIGION OF THEIR OWN MAKING.
